Tracey Young

Tracey has more than 10 years’ experience in governance management and board operations for non-profits and trade associations. Her expertise includes board creation and management, board and committee recruitment, committee operations and volunteer management. Tracey is a strategic thinker who creates tailored plans to help organizations achieve their goals.

With more than 6 years’ experience as an executive assistant to high-profile business leaders, Tracey provided executive administrative services to Tami Longaberger, CEO of the Longaberger Company and to executive leaders at the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, now the American College of Cardiology in Washington, DC. Her responsibilities included strategic planning, governance, meeting planning, and project management.

Prior to her career in governance and board operations, Tracey worked in Washington D.C. for more than 10 years in public relations and media relations for organizations including the American Academy of Actuaries, American Chemistry Council, and The Employee Benefit Research Institute. She also served as a communications consultant for the Prevent Cancer Foundation in Washington, DC.

In 2018, she started her consulting company TY Communications. Her clients included the American Institute of Architects Ohio (AIA Ohio) and Quest to Clean Up; and in 2019, she worked as chief executive officer and strategist on the campaign of Council- At-Large, Jennifer Pharr in Charleston, West Virginia.

Tracey is currently a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and is a board member of The Expanding Visions Foundation in Columbus, Ohio. She served on the board of directors for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC Columbus) and was one of the founding members of the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) East Columbus.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and an active member of Central State
University Alumni Association – Columbus, Ohio Chapter.

Tracey received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Central State University and a master’s degree in
journalism from Marshall University.
