Ron C. Barnett, Toledo born and raised, is a true example of “dreams really do come true”. For him, it was the dream of owning his own McDonald’s.
Ron Chris Barnett was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. Known by his middle name “Chris”, he started working at McDonald’s for Jim Cobham when he was seventeen. Chris worked hard to develop himself and at the age of nineteen he was promoted to Shift Manager. He worked closely with Mr. Cobham and his supervisor, Glenn Johnson, and was able to develop his skills further. Chris has had several years of formal McDonald’s training, including attending Hamburger University in Oakbrook, IL where he graduated in 1990. In November 1990, Glenn Johnson, purchased his first McDonald’s restaurant. This encouraged Chris even more. After many years of hard work, sacrifice and dedication. Chris and his wife became the proud owners of two McDonald’s restaurants.
Recently, Chris and his wife sold their McDonalds franchise and purchased a Scrambler’s Marie franchise. Their future endeavors consist of the desire to purchase more franchises and continue to help young people the same way they were helped when they were younger. Chris is also a past board member the Ronald McDonald House Charities Board.
